Are you a whisky lover or someone who is new to whisky?

Then this is the experience for you!

Over many years as an ambassador for whisky, I’ve been privileged to work with a number of chefs who have shared with me the secrets of matching food and whisky in a way that brings the two together perfectly.

Armed with a range of fine whiskies and different food types such as charcuterie, cheese, and chocolate, I’ve hosted and presented numerous food and whisky matching evenings, sharing these secrets with like-minded individuals all over the world.

My personal favorite food match with whisky is cheese.
Admittedly, when thinking of pairing food with drink, one doesn’t spontaneously think of single malt whisky and fine cheese. They are not traditionally associated with one another.

Yet, when you think about it, they both enjoy a similar rich heritage and tradition, and both possess similar attributes such as being distinctly smoky, nutty, spicy and, yes, even peaty.

So it shouldn’t really come as too much of a surprise that more and more people around the world are now beginning to enjoy the complementary characteristics of fine cheese and various expressions of single malt whiskies at home with their friends and family.

I’m excited to be sharing this experience with you here in Australia with a pairing session that will really bring out the flavors and textures in both the cheeses and the whiskies.

I think you will find this new matching experience one that will excite the senses. My recommendations are not set in stone but are starting points for you to try new combinations of handmade cheeses with different whisky expressions.

During the evening we will discover that there’s a fine cheese out there that will perfectly complement the rich and complex or fruity and light character traits of your favorite whisky.

In fact, there are hundreds of varieties of named cheeses made in Australia alone, each one as distinctive as the amazing whiskies we will taste on the evening.
